Mobile destinations designed to help you find mobile content, or set as your homepage to the mobile web. Some are mobile specific, others take existing online portals to the mobile.
If you already have a netvibes page, log into it here. If not, go to netvibes.com on your PC to get set up. This is one of the easiest ways to access your email, photos, news feeds, del.icio.us bookmarks etc from your mobile phone. Only downside is it can be slow to load & navigate, and there's no way to adjust your content settings for mobile so that less content is loaded.
Log into Mobilicious using your Del.icio.us account details to view & navigate your bookmarks. Nothing special here - just your bookmarks and a simple search box to filter by tag/url/description. You can also go to settings & specify an option to transcode websites, if that tickles your fancy.
Google (Personalised Home Page)
If you've set up a Google Personalised home page you can access it on your mobile by logging in here. Unfortunately many of the interactive modules you can add, (like Calendar or Delicious) don't work on the mobile version. Even some simple feeds like horoscopes fail to load. It's fast & easy to use, but Netvibes probably works better & offers more choice as a personal home page for mobile.
Great little RSS reader for mobile. Lets you add popular feeds to your Faves, search by keywords for feeds of interest, or go online (www.fdm8.com) & add your own. There's even a 'send to my mobile' button to add to your web browser.
Mobilise (NineMSN Mobile Portal)
Brings together Channel 9 news, Ralph & Cleo mobile mags, the excellent YourTime guides and all the Windows Live services (Hotmail, Messenger, Live Search, Spaces etc) on one portal.
Portal for accessing Yahoo! Mail, Messenger and Yahoo! content such as news, weather & finance. You can carry out a mobile search using Yahoo! oneSearch or download the Yahoo Go! application for an enhanced search & content experience (not localised).
Mobile site directory / mobile search aggregator, Tappity relies on user submitted sites for its content. Create your own mobile destination by specifying favourite mobile search engines & links. Access recent & popular mobile sites submitted by users. US/UK content mostly, but a good kick-off point for exploring the mobile web.
Mobilised.net (social bookmarking)
Mobilised is a mobile social bookmarking tool, a bit like delicious, but specifically for mobile. You can submit links directly from the site (online or mobile), via SMS Twitter or using a PC browser 'bookmarklet'. Sites can be tagged with keywords, and searched by tags. Check out all the sites tagged 'Australia' to see what's been posted locally. Publishers can include a Mobilised badge on their site (see below) for users to vote, and each site on Mobilised is labelled so you can see the number of votes it's earned.
